Directing a film or video is exhilarating. Creating sets, lighting and composing still fashion and portrait shoots gave me a great understanding of composition and creating mood with light. In film and video I apply those standards because each move of a film camera is a different composition and mood must be driven from each image the camera sees... Brian |

Michigan.gov website contains information about, and when available, pictures of
Michigan Children who have been reported to law enforcement as runaways or
potential abductions. This information is being provided by the State because it
is believed the children are at risk, and it is in the best interest of these
children that they be located.

Youth in Focus - Web Access
Well here is what's been going on. The kids are into there first production and all is going well. We have Actors, Directors, Writer's, Art Directors, Stylists, Directors of Photography and camera crew. We have 53 kids signed up.
There are a couple of productions going on at present. After the Last Bell. And a 30 minute newscast about kids dealing with peer pressure, making right choices using a newscast as a backdrop. We have a new funding group on board, the Prevention Network" out of Lansing , MI. They are impressed by our program and are very exited that we are going to incorporate their program into a part of our overall program for a few months.

| Production training & Writing workshop | |
This program involves producing a 30 minute news broadcast using a media kit provided by the Prevention Network. All of the regular stories from the news will be covered. The difference is that our group will learn to identify and make positive influential changes in the messages which glamorize and normalize smoking and underage drinking. The kids will be given information on the subjects from the Black Caucus of Michigan via live presentations. The kids will create the visual look for the show and incorporate the messages they learn to develop the content. They will do interviews and use possible stock footage from shows to influence their target audience, their peers. They will present this show at our program site and will then present it at various public and private schools during the school year.
Don't miss out on the POSTER CONTEST. Our poster contest is under way and there is a $20.00 dollar grand prize among others. Your posters should show creative ideas that convince other kids not to smoke, drink alcohol or take drugs.
The Black Caucus will be with us on the 21st of September to present the Drug Free/Smoke Free presentation. Everyone should be here on this day.
