Name recognition is one of the keys to your success. People need to know who they are listening to or seeing on stage. How many times have you gone to a club, enjoyed the band but do not have a clue who they were?

It is very important that the bands name if not they names of the band members, is plastered all over the place everywhere you go.

Posters:

Posters are valuable tools. These can be simple legal size documents with a picture of the band and the band name on them. When you or your manager goes to the club/bar that the band is going to play in, he/she takes a set of 5 posters with them. These go on the walls and door of the establishment. Try to get them up at least a week before the band is going to play there. This is one way name recognition is started. If you don't have a color printer or do not know of someone who can design the posters for you, Check out the localbroadcast.net services page for the poster subscription service. Club owners love to see the name of their club on your banner. If done with a bit of imagination, the poster is itself a work of art that the owner will keep and remember. This helps them to keep you at the top of their list of professional bands they want playing in their establishment.

Banners:

Again, name recognition is everything. How are your fans going to purchase a CD of your music from a store when they do not know your name?. How are you going to fill a club if the people who heard you play and loved you don't recognize the name when they decide where to go that night? Its not that expensive a tool. For around $90 you can get a 3 x 10 foot banner. They last a long time and travel well. Once you're famous you can depend upon brightly lit up marquee's to announce your presence. Till then, use a banner! Don't know where to get one? Check out the localbroadcast.net services page.
